Whitby Pavilion Cinema & Theatre

This is an old building but has been given some access features. There is an access road down to it from Westcliff and some disabled parking spaces. However the path is quite steep, but there is the possibility of dropping off using a turning circle. Level access into the theatre itself, but if entering through Whitby Pavilion itself, there is a gentle ramp and automatic doors, but it's quite a long walk for me, using my walker. There is an accessible toilet with automatic door, but it occasionally gets stuck, so let an usher know if this happens and you are waiting. The balcony is not accessible (steep stairs) but the ground floor has excellent access, step free, gentle ramp. There is space at the back for mobility scooters, and it is better if you can transfer so as not to block the aisles. The rows have plenty of space between them and some are offset to make space available. There is a theatre bar, and level access to the Pavilion itself, where there is another accessible toilet and a cafe.
