Excellent
Three pools - main, leisure, and teaching pool. Main and teaching pool adjacent to one another, both good sizes with PoolPod entry to both. Pool cupboard available to store personal wheelchairs, with PoolPod wheelchair access provided. Leisure pool accessible via inclined ramp, with grab rails throughout. Disability Swim sessions available at several times throughout the week, in each of the three pools. These sessions are exclusively for people with disabilities and their carers.

Good
Automatic sliding doors on entry, with internal manual doors. Spacious walkways and good signage to facilities, with addition of braille. Staircases between ground and first floor, with option for lift to be operated by a staff member. Toilet, changing, and swimming facilities accessible on ground floor.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
Eight disabled bays in car park, with pedestrianised area for safety. Plenty of shelter/ scooter racks opposite entrance. Good bus links as situated on main road (Holderness Road).
Accessible Toilets
Good
Main reception area: Contained one disabled changing place with shower and toilet, and a separate disabled toilet. The changing place was spacious and equipped with shower, wall mounted electronic changing bed, tracking with overhead ceiling hoist, electric adjustable sink and mirror unit (with curved basin for ease of access) with easy reach long handled tap, toilet with grab rails, and emergency red cord within reach, and screen for privacy. The disabled toilet included lowered sink, toilet, grab rails, emergency red cord. Observed to be clean and tidy throughout. Main and teaching pool changing/ toilet facilities: Three disabled shower rooms, all in use during visit therefore staff member advised one was equipped with hoist, and two with shower seats. One separate disabled toilet. Spacious and flat access to pool areas from changing room, with PoolPod access into swimming pools. Leisure pool changing/ toilet facilities: Separate family/disabled changing room, with benches. Two disabled toilets fitted out identically to previous disabled toilet.

Fantastic facilities, PoolPods a great asset to the leisure centre for disabled access.
