Enjoy a day outdoors getting close to nature at award-winning WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre. The visitor attraction in the beautiful setting of the Severn Estuary attracts thousands of wild birds to its famous reserve each year. There is also an impressive collection of exotic birds including flamingos, cranes and the rarest goose in the world – the Hawaiian goose (or nene). For a visual spectacle head to Flamingo Lagoon, the sunken observatory gives you a unique look through the legs of these amazing birds. Other highlights include daily amphibian and otter talks and seasonal events such as Wild Safaris in the summer and Wild Bird Feeds in the winter months. For birdwatchers there are a great range of hides overlooking the Reserve including the Estuary Tower, complete with a lift and viewing terrace with breath-taking views of the Severn estuary. WWT Slimbridge has its own Changing Places Toilet on site, wheelchairs and mobility scooters for hire, as well as accessible pathways throughout the site.

Very Good Accessibility, informative staff.

An excellent day out. Carers have free entry Great wheelchair accessibility in all areas. Helpful and friendly staff Lovely big cafe with room to get around with table service - great cakes too!

Slimbridge Wetlands

Absolutely fab place to visit. Easily accessible for scooters, powerchairs and wheelchairs. Plenty of disabled parking. There's toilets at the car park, including disabled. They've also put in a changing places toilet recently. There's a lot to see and do. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful and inclusive place to visit.

Disabled Access at WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre

The Main entrance to the Foyer is via a ramp which is easily accessed from the car park via a smooth brick paved path that leads to brick paved ramp turning to wooden boarding as the ramp traverses to bridge section to the entrance. There are two powered doors opened by a conveniently placed wheelchair-accessible buttons to lead you through into the foyer. There is a ramp which takes you down from the foyer into the ground floor of the visitor centre. There are level paths throughout the grounds for wheel chair access. Mobile scooters and wheelchairs are available if required. A Changing Places Toilet is located on site.
