York St. John Students' Union is a light an airy building. Staff are welcoming and friendly. I was approached by a member of staff and asked if they could offer any help. Downstairs there is a bar serving a limited range of alcoholic and soft drinks (I found the choice quite restrictive). Upstairs there is a cafe run by Starbucks, serving hot drinks and cakes in a relaxed atmosphere.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Ramp access with a low incline to the building foyer. Lift access to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Wide double doors allow easy access around the venue. No hearing loop. BSL signage.
Parking & Transport
Average
Disabled parking available at about 300 yards, closest bus stop is 800 yards away. Level access from car park and bus stop to the venue.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Accessible loo easy to find. Very spacious with room for baby changing included. Grab rails around the toilet.
Staff
Good
Staff friendly and also offered assistance.
Additional Information
A pleasant space to have some time out. Not the most inspiring of places but quite unoffensive.
