    Look who's here! 👀

We've been welcoming some brilliant new venues to Euan's Guide recently. From live entertainment and theatre to wildlife reserves and working mills, here's a look at what's new, and why each one could be your next accessible day out.

    Komedia Brighton

Established in 1994, Komedia Brighton is one of Brighton's best-loved independent live entertainment venues, presenting one of the largest and most diverse arts programmes in the UK. With over 700 performances a year spanning comedy, music, cabaret and children's theatre, it's home to resident comedy nights like Komedia Comedy Club and Down the Hatch, and has picked up the Chortle Comedy Award for Best Venue in the South more times than any other. It's also a key grassroots music venue and a regular feature of The Great Escape festival, with two flexible performance spaces, a kitchen serving freshly prepared food, and Picturehouse's Duke's at Komedia Cinema upstairs.

    Watermill Theatre, Bagnor

Set in idyllic gardens on the banks of the river Lambourn in rural West Berkshire, the Watermill Theatre is a small but mighty 200-seat theatre with a big reputation. In 2026 it was named Theatre of the Year jointly with the Royal Court, just two years after winning the same title in 2024, and its 2025 production of Jesus Christ Superstar picked up the UK Theatre Award for Best Musical Production. Watermill productions regularly transfer to the West End or tour internationally, its Lord of the Rings production has played Chicago, Auckland and Australia, and the theatre runs an outreach programme working with young people, low-income and isolated communities.

    Sun Pier House CIC, Chatham

Sun Pier House is an arts organisation on the Medway waterfront in Chatham, Kent. It's home to a gallery, artist studios, hireable spaces, a café and a busy events programme, making it a great spot for a relaxed afternoon taking in local art and culture.

    RSPB Frampton Marsh, Wyberton

To enjoy, await variety of bird life and close encounters with wildlife, RSPB Frampton Marsh overlooks The Wash, the UK's most important estuary for birds. The reserve offers accessibletrails, a café and free mobility scooter hire, and the Reedbed Trail is mostly flat on compacted aggregate. All three hides are accessible via mobility scooter, making it a great option for a nature-filled day out.

    Bailiffgate Hotel, Alnwick

Overlooking Alnwick Castle, the Bailiffgate Hotel is a privately owned townhouse retreat steeped in Northumbrian heritage. It's well positioned for a comfortable, character-filled stay in one of Northumberland's most historic towns.

    Lochcarron of Scotland, Selkirk

Lochcarron of Scotland is a working textile weaving mill producing tartans for customers around the world. Mill tours start at the shop and visitor centre and take in every stage of the process, dyeing, warping, weaving, darning and warehousing, alongside the story of tartan from traditional clan designs to contemporary creations. Tours last around 45 to 50 minutes and cover roughly 200 metres. As this is a working factory, some areas can be noisy, so complimentary ear plugs are available to all visitors.

    Hertfordshire Leisure Centres

We've also welcomed a string of leisure and sports centres, including Hitchin Swimming & Fitness Centre, Stevenage Swimming Centre, Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre, Royston Leisure Centre, North Herts Leisure Centre in Letchworth Garden City, Watford Leisure Centre, and Hartham Leisure Centre in Hertford, so there's no shortage of ways to stay active close to home.
