Kerry Farm Holidays, Powys

Situated in the scenic Welsh countryside, Kerry Farm Holidays is a unique experience, as you can become a farmer during your stay! You can feed the animals, collect eggs, walk the goats, and even make jam and sell it to locals. One guest said there was “plenty of space on the farm for parking,” and that the “farm and cottages are adapted to assist wheelchair users.”

Aden Caravan and Camping, Mintlaw

The small village of Mintlaw in rugged Aberdeenshire is home to Aden Caravan and Camping. Both the rooms and access to the caravan are designed for manual wheelchairs and powerchairs. One guest said that “access to the caravan is via a widened ramp, and the doors have been widened.” They added that “there’s a wet room in the caravan with grab rails and a lowered sink.”

One guest said, “there was smooth transition from van to chalet with ramp access straight from the parking area.” They added that “the icing on the cake was seeing the baby lambs!”

Surrounded by a forest park and lake, Calvert Trust Kielder in Northumberland has everything an outdoorsy person could want. One guest praised the staff for “routinely making the seemingly unlikely very easy.” They added that the self-catering chalets and the surrounding areas are “designed around access for disabled people with physical, learning, behavioural, and visual impairments.”

Caalm Camp, Shaftesbury

Set on a family-run farm in rural Dorset, Caalm Camp is a glamping, or luxury camping, experience. There are six yurts at the retreat, which include outdoor furniture and a lockable wet-room. One guest said their yurt had been “made specifically wheelchair friendly, it has been levelled and has a ramp for the doorway.”

Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, Pwllheli

Hafan y Môr Holiday Park is a Haven holiday camp situated close to the market town of Pwllheli in North Wales. One guest said they were “slightly nervous about staying in a caravan, but my fears were unfounded as it was fantastic – we had a brilliant holiday.” They added that “the paths are even and well maintained and lit,” and that there was a “fairly large wet room with a raised loo, lowered sink, and grab rails.”
