Real Reviews, Real Impact: Helping Others Find Changing Places Toilets

At Euan’s Guide, we believe that access barriers - like the lack of suitable toilet facilities - create disability, not people. That’s why we’re so passionate about highlighting venues with Changing Places toilets through our reviews.

These facilities are essential for many disabled people, and our community often tells us they’re the key to being able to enjoy a full day out without stress or discomfort. You can read more about what our community thinks in this blog post about the importance of Changing Places toilets.

Reviews share valuable information about hoists, adult-sized benches, cleanliness, and space, helping others plan with confidence and showing venues what true accessibility looks like.

Leaving a disabled access review of a Changing Places toilet on EuansGuide.com is a powerful way to challenge those barriers. By sharing your experiences - what worked, what didn’t, and what could be improved - you’re helping to create a more accessible world.

Your voice can highlight good practice, call out inaccessibility, and most importantly, give others the knowledge they need to make informed choices. Together, we can make public spaces more inclusive, one review at a time.

Here we share some of our Changing Places toilet review highlights from our community.

Haggerston Park, London - 4 stars

"This is a very large toilet that’s really well-equipped. It seems to be kept clean and tidy apart from a few odd leaves, which is expected in a park! I did have some trouble getting into the toilet. They’ve added a lot of precautions to prevent misuse of this toilet but it did mean that I struggled to gain access. The door is opened with a keypad which has a four-digit code. You can get this code by filling in a form ahead of time or by asking at the kiosk. Once I’d received the code I found that I still couldn’t get inside. Luckily a passing ranger spotted me and was able to come and unlock the door. It seems it had been manually locked from the outside to prevent misuse. While it had meant that the toilet was in good condition, it did mean that I wouldn’t have been able to get in if that ranger hadn’t been nearby."

The Hub on the Prom, Ardrossan - 5 stars

"This is a relatively new Changing Places Toilet, it has been developed through community fundraising by local community action group. It really is a welcome improvement to the area as there are not many Changing Places facilities in the local area. This will make a huge difference to the number of disabled visitors that can visit the local area of North Ayrshire. It is particularly helpful as it is hard to find accessible toilets within each of the towns, which are within reasonable travelling distance for anyone travelling around North Ayrshire. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in getting this toilet put in place."

Exchange, Ilford - 4.5 stars

"This Changing Places Toilet has been built according to older standards so it’s not up to the most recent standards. It’s still a very well-equipped toilet and is also well maintained. It’s accessed via a RADAR key and it seemed quite busy when I went, so I do recommend knocking before entering just to be safe."

The Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh - 5 stars

"Wheelchair accessibility, hearing loops, and restrooms are all features of the Parliament building's accessible design. Wheelchair-accessible public spaces include galleries and guided tours, and Blue Badge disabled parking is offered. However, because of a lack of assistive technology, discrimination, and limited resources, it can lead to negative experiences and make it difficult for people with disabilities to participate in a range of events."

Trevassack Holidays, Helston - 4.5 stars

"We loved loved loved our holiday. Almost as soon as we came home we were already thinking about booking another holiday there. There are 3 cabins which have features that make them more suitable for disabled people. Then there are 3 houses which are even more set up for people with very limited mobility, like me. We stayed in one of these houses: Clare Milne House. The photos they have provided have been taken with a wide angle lens, so it's not quite as big as it looks. But plenty spacious for the 5 of us, my power chair and some extra equipment. Not only is it designed to be perfect for disabled people, but it's a really nice space too. Everyone in our party (me, my two carers, and my parents) felt comfortable and at home there."

Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff - 4.5 stars

"WMC has always been wonderful, I've been completely supported, even throughout medical episodes. They have great accessible toilets, staff are kind, polite and helpful. It's a safe space in the bay for me. The only issues are waiting for a lift after a show is a bit difficult as there's only 2 lifts, and transport (which is pretty common in Cardiff, let's be honest!). Stage door (Private one) is also accessible for students and performers, and public stage door after shows has seating in the surrounding areas."

Westfield Shopping Centre, London - 4 stars

"This Changing Places Toilet is located on the ground floor of Westfield Stratford (middle floor). It is near the middle of the shopping centre and there is a Changing Places symbol on the overhead signage to show where it’s located. It was a lovely, clean toilet and felt very modern. It was well-equipped and accessed with a RADAR key. It was a nice experience using the toilet, however, an issue with the flush and no sign of any emergency cords or alarms made me concerned about safety and maintenance."

Life Centre, Newcastle Upon Tyne - 4 stars

"I popped into the café as I arrived in Newcastle earlier than planned and had some time to kill before a meeting. I was pleasantly surprised to find the venue is one of the most consistently high-rated venues on Euan’s Guide in the Newcastle area. It also had a Changing Places toilet, which is a lifeline to so many."
