With its remarkable collection of folk and decorative arts, the Museum shows the diverse and complex nature of American traditions. The only museum of Americana outside the United States, it was founded to bring American history and cultures to the people of Britain and Europe.

Accessible, stunning, family-friendly museum, grounds and play-park

Excellent place to visit for enjoyment and in a wheelchair. Good disabled parking, accessible toilets in various locations and level access to everything. Every floor of the museum has lift access which means you can see everything. As this is in an old house this is a remarkable addition. Even the beautiful gardens have a wheelchair route and there’s a route to the children’s playground too. Café is also flat entrance and very yummy food too. We visited with a family group from 18 months to 70 years and we all had a great time.
