13 reviewsMore than two hundred years ago, the Assembly Rooms was created as a place for people to meet, talk, do business and be entertained. From royal banquets to Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows, and from ceilidhs to readings by Dickens, Scott and Thackeray, not only has this beautiful 18th century building survived the centuries, but its purpose continues to this day. Following a major redevelopment completed in 2012, this iconic Georgian venue has been transformed into spaces fit for contemporary use, but with their architectural significance preserved and enhanced. Restored to their former glory, our Ballroom, Music Hall, Drawing Rooms and Crush Hall are providing elegant backdrops for formal and informal occasions, day and night.
