The Bon Accord Centre is very accessible, clean and tidy. However I had a disappointing experience in the accessible toilet next to Costa on the ground floor. The toilet has a really heavy door with a tight door closure so it was difficult to get in with my powerchair. There is no vertical grab rail on the wall next to the toilet, only a low horizontal one and the toilet roll dispenser is in an awkward place when you can only use your right hand. When I tried to exit, I found that I couldn't open the door, so I pulled the emergency cord and it broke off in my hand. It had previously been tied in the middle. I was trapped in the toilet! Luckily, at that exact moment, a staff member came to check the toilet and was able to let me out. I have contacted Management to let them know and have asked for regular inspections and testing.
