About

Cambridge shopmobility is a short term loan service. We provide push and electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters and other mobility aids for daily use (between 10:00-17:00) in the city centre. The service is accessable to customers with both long and short term conditions. It is important to clarify that we are unable to provide this service outside of the working day i.e. for over night or long term loan, and that equipment is not permitted to be removed from the city centre.

Disabled Access at Cambridge City Council Shopmobility

Our service is located on minus one of the grand arcade carpark. Our entrance is to the right of the main entrances and is well sign posted. We have access to 9 spaces that are reserved for customers using the service. With appropriate organisation we are able to collect customers from city centre bus stops. We are well linked with dial a ride, they often bring our customers into town and we are able to pick up or deliever equipment to customers using this service. We are also able to deliver equipment in the car park. Due to the high demand on our service, booking is advised

We are based on 1- of the grand arcade carpark. The carpark it's self has a high perectage of blue badge bays. The shopmobility services has 10 allocated spaces for our customers.

Toilets features at Cambridge City Council Shopmobility

We have a changing places toilet on level 1- of the carpark beside the shopmobility office. It provides an accessable toilet, hoist and changing bed as well as a shower. Customers are required to read the instructions before useing any equipment and provide their own slings. The key is available from the shopmobility office.

Changing Places toilet

There is a Changing Places toilet, which includes an adult-size changing bench, toilet, sink and hoist.

Accessible toilet

A designated accessible toilet designed for wheelchair users and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements is available within the main public areas.
