Disabled Travellers Bicester trip PART TWO at Cecconi’s for breakfast
Having recently opened at the Village, we enjoyed breakfast with this famous International restaurant, Cecconi’s.
It was opened in 1978 at London Mayfare, the first in London, by Enso CECCONI, were you could enjoy Italian flavours at their best, and an overnight success.
it came under the care of Soho House, and closed for two months during July 2005 to be refurbished. and now, they have opened Cecconi’s at Bicester.
It is a walk in no booking restaurant, and already popular, so will be busy at times.
We decided to arrive early morning to enjoy breakfast with them, and throughly enjoyed our meal.
We do recommend this restaurant, as Bicester itself is very wheelchair friendly, as is
the restaurant.
Car parking is easy, with many disabled bays (photo 1) and an easy flat walkway takes you right up to the shops (2) which is always a delight to walk through no matter what the weather (3)
Cecconi’s is towards the far end (4) but nice shopping on the way, and looks inviting as you draw near (5) The entry is level, wide doors, but are pull, push handles (6)
With wide passage that all chairs can enter (7)
The restaurant looks warm, cosy and inviting (8) with areas you may leave the wheelchair if you want to sit around the tables (9). A varied breakfast menu awaits, worth serious consideration (10) and having chosen, you can enjoy looking around at the fancy deco. (11) before tucking into a plate of a full English breakfast (12).
Very nicely presented, well cooked and hot.
There are other areas that can seat at, such as the conservatory (13) or a side room used later on this evening (14) both very pleasant areas, well laid and clean and comfortable. Again room for your wheelchair.
There is a well stocked bar (15) and drink orders will be brought to you, and it is behind this bar and down a corridor that you will find toilets, the disabled toilet being just through a push pull handled door, but it’s nice and clean, spacious enough to turn chair, with pull cord and grab handles (16)
The toilet is just inside the side entrance for restaurant (17) and leads you out to a pleasantly laid out walkway (18) and which takes you directly to the main shopping paths (19) and back to the large car parking areas (20).

Well worth a visit, because it looks appealing, warm and comfortable, staff friendly, and the breakfast was very good, and the coffee was good and hot, and you could taste the coffee, not weak.
