A large grassy space in the centre of the park with shops and restaurants behind the parkA wide path on the left-hand side with a large grassy space on the right. There are trees along spaced evenly next to the path with coloured lights and streetlights between them providing good lighting of the pathwaysA large reindeer Christmas decoration by the small concrete walls that provide lots of spaces to sit Some of the pathways through the park with greenery on both sidesThe winding path that provides step-free access to the park without using lifts with a large Christmas tree light in the distance. Large bright lights are installed into the wall on the side of the path so the path is very well lit and there is a grab rail at the topIn between the grassy area and the shops and restaurants is some areas with low walls that provide lots of space to site downThe pathway towards the stairs to exit the park without using the lifts connected to Liverpool ONEThe winding path that provides step-free access to the park without using the lifts connected to Liverpool ONE. Some of the path has a wall on the left with a grab rail on top of it. But this ends and then there are just plants on either side of the path with no grab railsAn insect hotel in a quiet part of the park

    Good

This park was located quite high up, it’s at the top of Liverpool ONE, a large retail and entertainment complex. You could either access it from a lift in the main shopping part of Liverpool ONE. Or if you were approaching it from the side by Strand Street, or the A5036, there was a flight of stairs or a long winding path. The path wound back and forth because of how high up the park is compared to street level and it made sure that no part of the path was too steep. It had a large green space and because I visited in the run up to Christmas there was also a Bavarian style Christmas market there and some large Christmas decorations. Once you reached the park the paths were all flat and paved well. There was a fair amount of seating available around the park, most of it was in the form of low concrete walls. Some of the things I liked most about the park was how well lit it was at night, especially the winding path, and the insect hotel.

    Good

You can access the park via lifts in the main shopping area of Liverpool ONE. Or there are stairs and sloped pathways that also provide access to the park. Because it is quite a bit above street-level the path winds back and forth a few times to make sure that it isn’t too steep. Some parts of this winding path had a grab rail on top of a wall but most of it had plants on both sides with no grab rail available. The paths leading up to the park and inside the park are all pretty smooth and easy to traverse. The paths inside the park itself are all quite wide as well. There is a large grassy area in the centre of the park which I didn’t go on in my wheelchair. The lighting after sunset was really good as it provided good lighting to be able to see the paths and be able to navigate the park easily but not so bright that it was overwhelming or ruined the vibe of the park. There was a fair amount of seating available in the park, most of it was in the form of low concrete walls. There was a small Bavarian style Christmas market there when I visited. I didn’t spend any time inside the market as all the stalls were quite high up and would have been difficult for me to see anything.

Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free access to most areas

I travelled to this place by walk or wheel

The closest car park is Q-Park Liverpool ONE which is located on The Strand and some of the lifts travel directly from the car park to Chavasse Park. According to the website, it has 1900 spaces in total, including 81 accessible parking spaces. It has a height restriction of 2.10 metres. The website says there are no EV charging bays, however when I visited there were quite a lot of charging bays that seemed to have been newly installed. It is a paid car park and there is a discount code on the Liverpool ONE website for those that pre-book a parking space here. Liverpool ONE bus station is just 260 metres away from Chavasse Park and has a large number of buses that stop here. James Street metro station is 450 metres away from the park and provides access to the Wirral line. Liverpool Lime Street railway station is one kilometre away from the park too.

Accessible facilities: Electric Vehicle Charging, Public or on street parking

    Accessible Toilets

There are toilets below the park, in the Liverpool ONE complex, including a Changing Places toilet. They are behind barriers that charge 30p to enter. However, the staff there will let you use the accessible toilets for free. Just ask someone to use the accessible toilets and they will be able to let you in for free.
