Clay Cross Active is a Local Authority Leisure Centre operated on behalf of North East Derbyshire District Council. The Centre has a wide range of facilities and step free and ramp access throughout.

The facility works in collaboration with the local Citizens Advice to support local residents alongside the NHS to deliver a range of Children's services.

Activity areas are situated on two levels which are accessible via two lifts.

The car park has a number of disability bays within close proximity of the entrance. Inside, the facility has a range of accessible toilets/showers on both levels. The Swimming Pool has a village style changing room which houses an accessible shower/change alongside a changing places facility.

On poolside, there are graded steps into the pool alongside a Pool Pod and Otter Hoist to support people with access into the water. On the first floor the facility hosts a Wellness Suite including power assisted equipment to support those with long term conditions to take their first steps into physical activity.

The centre offers a range of activities including a 100 station gym, group cycling studio, soft play, TAG Active, Sports Hall, All Weather Astroturf Pitch and a Cafe.

The centre offers SEN sessions in activity areas. SEN Soft Play sessions take place on the third Sunday of each month. SEN gymnastics lessons take place on Saturday's each week as well as integration of SEN children into Junior Swimming Lessons. The facility is also currently going through a Water Wellbeing Accreditation to support a range of people back into water based physical activity.
