I am a carer or friend of a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, hearing, moving around and understanding.

I visited The Comfort Inn, Blackpool and it wasn't accessible at all. They hadn't thought about inclusion or disability in any planning or redesigning of the facilities.
Disabled Access In and Around
Bad
As soon as you arrive you are greeted with steps to the door. The steps were steep and were slippery in the rain. After 6pm the door was locked and you needed you room key to open the door, this way awkward at the top of the steps. If someone had a wheelchair or a walking aid, it would not have been possible. It was difficult for partially sited people. In the reception area, there is a bar and a games room. The games room has steps leading into it, but the bar was accessible on the same level. There is a lift to the accommodation, but lots of stairs and steps on each level, and narrow walkways. Unfortunately the carpets were tired and worn and created tripping hazards. The rooms were small and difficult to get around and the bathroom was not accessible. A step to the bathroom and then we needed to step into the shower cubical. There was no room to take in shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, so getting these were dangerous as I had to put them on the toilet seat and then reach out for the individually. This was a slip hazard, as well as a cold experience. There was a lot of information on posters in the reception area, but none of these were in easy read, braille or large print. Breakfast information was a missed in the crowd, It was also a late sitting, so we couldn't attend as we had already left for work.

The hotel has a car park opposite to and there are Ubers, Trams across Blackpool. It is only a 10minute walk from the Train Station and in close proximity to the Winter Gardens.

Staff
Good
Staff were friendly and helpful. My front lock fell off during the night and they fixed it quickly and efficiently.
