Poor provision in Perth

Overall Rating
Poor
Located near a residential area with homes and high-rise flats, the Electric Vehicle charging facilities are ideally placed for those who have made the leap to an EV and happen to live close by. That's about all the positive things I have to say about this location. Small bays and the placement of the charging units make this another example of poor planning that makes things difficult for disabled drivers and EV owners.
Disabled Access In and Around
Average
The area around the car park is level and generally in good condition, with dropped kerbs, though the route through to the nearby flats includes 9 steps. No alternative formats are used at this location, and signage is minimal.
Parking & Transport
Poor
I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
Located in a small car park, there are plenty of standard spaces but no accessible bays. There are 8 chargers, each with two sockets, serving 16 spaces. These 7kW charging terminals sit on a raised kerb, set back in long grass, and are not easy to reach from a wheelchair or with a walking aid. Cables are not provided at this location. The spaces are close together, which creates a real risk that someone using a mobility aid could be unable to access their vehicle if another driver plugs in next to them. The terminals are little more than short black poles with Type 2 sockets and a QR code to scan for payment. Overall, it’s a poor offering, though it is worth noting that Blue Badge holders can park free of charge in the nearby car park.
