Overall Rating
Good
This particular Costa sits on the corner of Cambridge Street and Sauchiehall Street. If you're lucky enough to find a vacant space at the nearby car park, this location is an ideal spot to catch up with friends, or colleagues in my case. However, the venue is let down by an exceptionally cluttered accessible toilet.
Disabled Access In and Around
Average
The accessibility of the venue is fine overall. There is a slight ramp at the entrance with two outward opening manual doors. I had to have both doors opened as it was a bit tight for my manual wheelchair. I don't recall there being a button to alert staff that assistance is needed. In my case, a customer rushed out to help. Thanks kind stranger! There are a variety of seating options and table types. We secured a long table and moved some chairs out of the way. The staff helped with this which was appreciated. Please be aware that the seating area can get a bit challenging if people forget to push their seats back in after leaving. The order counter has a lowered section with space for wheelchair users to get their knees under. The card machine was within easy reach. I tend to find that most Costa Coffee locations have a hearing loop but I didn't see any signage for one here. There are no alternative formats in use.
Accessible facilities: Single-level venue, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals
Parking & Transport
Good
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There are nine accessible parking spaces, on the corner of Cambridge street. This is a decent offering, but it should be noted that the bays are side on with the pavement. They're much longer than standard parking spaces but not any longer. I find this area tends to get very busy, so it's generally a case of luck, or patience if you hope to secure a space. There are loading bays and double yellow lines, but these offer space to drop someone off if needed. The closest bus station is Buchanan Street Station, and Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street railway stations are within half a mile. The nearest bus stop is is on Renfrew street, 150 feet from Costa.
Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking, Drop-off or pick up point
Accessible Toilets
Average
The accessible toilet requires a RADAR key and the door opens outwards. It is secured from the inside by lifting the door handle. The toilet is small but could accommodate a powerchair user. The toilet pan is on the rear wall. It has a contrasting seat and silver rails on either side, which contrast against the white tiles, and a soft backrest. The flush is on the wall behind, which may be difficult for some to reach, and the red cord hangs to the left when seated. It reached the floor on this visit. There is a left-side transfer space but there are two bins in the space, making it unusable. The sink has rails on either side, a small basin and a lever-style tap. The hand dryer is on the left as you exit and directly across from it is a wall-mounted baby change table.

Staff
Good
When we were in the building, the staff were very accommodating. They moved furniture, brought drinks to us and assisted us on the way out.
