    Fabulous bungalow and picturesque village

Been back a week and looking to book again. Lovely little bungalow, ideal for disabled, good kitchen, two rise and recliner chairs in the living room, proper home from home. The garden is fabulous, we had a really hot week and sat in the garden for hours. It’s lovely sitting just looking at the garden and the water feature, you get to see the sheep also. The two pubs in the village are good, both serve lovely food and both are very accomodAting. We met some locals which was lovely. There’s lots to do if you want to ie bakewell market and more.

    Our Happy place

Two visits in one month at our home from home -it really doesn’t feel like a holiday cottage anymore . So restful, quiet,in a beautiful setting and the village itself, has 2 great pubs in walking/pushing distance. Steve the owner has equipped it well and taken note of suggestions over the years . There’s wide doors, wet room, shower chair/commode, hoist , profile bed, riser recliner chairs and a fully equipped kitchen and fully accessible garden . Off road parking up to the door which accommodates our WAV vehicle which is van size. Dogs welcome on request. Lovely view we never get tired of looking at . A very special place !! Hard to find a place like this that accommodates my severely disabled husband so well. As a carer I really feel like I’ve had a break after visiting Croft Bungalow.

    Paradise in the Peak District

This cottage has everything you need for anyone with a disability, a mobile hoist, profiling bed and commode. Plenty of room for Ethan to move around inside in his powerchair. In the living room there are 2 electric reclining chairs which gave my son time to relax out of his chair and he loved them. The garden is just brilliant with a great water feature in the centre and if you close your eyes it sounds like a waterfall, the paths allow a very flat surface for someone to get round in a chair or frame, lots of beautiful flowers which is full of beautiful nature, butterflies, bees, birds and the local sheep sometimes come close to the garden from the fields beside the cottage. Steve, the owner was a great host and during our trip the BBC came to do a wonderful news report on such a wonderful little bit of paradise in the Peak District. On our trip we decided to go swimming to the Metrodome in Barnsley, which is approx 1hr drive and they have great facilities for disabled, hoists and pool wheelchair to allow you to go right into the water, where you can enjoy the wave machine. Highly recommend Croft Bungalow, lovely place to unwind and relax with the quiet countryside.
