    Good

I always appreciate a Changing Places toilet in a popular outdoor area. If you head a little way from the car park towards The Bothy, you'll come across this clean and well equipped facility, complete with changing bed, ceiling track hoist and an adjustable sink.

The route from the car park is all tarmacked. There are two ways to access the loo. One is down the slope on the left, although the foot of this was blocked by a sign advising of opening hours during my visit. The other is by passing the toilet, taking a left and following the path which is a more level route. As for the rest of the park, there is a combination of tarmac and wooden walkways. The play park does not have any accessible play equipment.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

I've rated this section as average, mostly because of the state of the car park. There is thick rubber matting across the car park, much of which is filled with small stones. These stones are strewn across the area, obscuring the parking spaces and getting underfoot or into the grooves of tyres very easily. I counted four accessible parking spaces near the entrance and a further four in the car park alongside three parent and child spaces. The bays are quite large with hatched markings on either side. The closest bus stop is half a mile away on Dalmarnock Road where the 18, 18A, 46, 65 and 90 services operate. The nearest accessible train station is Dalmarnock, which has lifts from each platform. This is just under a mile from the car park. If coming via the train station, it's more direct to travel to the bridge on Cuningar Way, turn right after you cross, and follow the tarmac route to The Bothy.

The door requires a RADAR key and opens outwards. It is very heavy, so if you are accessing the toilet alone you might find it a bit of a struggle. As you enter, the toilet pan is on the left and has a contrasting blue seat with contrasting blue rails on either side. There is space for a right side transfer only. The other side has a nappy bin in the space and is not wide enough for a safe transfer. The flush is in the middle of the cistern and is button operated. The red cord is on the left as you enter the room. When seated on the toilet it is on your right. There is only one red cord and it hangs freely to the floor. Between the toilet pan and the sink there is a colostomy shelf on the wall. The sink is height adjustable with a large basin and a long lever style tap. As with the toilet pan, there are contrasting blue rails on either side. On the opposite wall there is an adult changing bed. The bed folds down from the wall and does not have a shower. As expected in a Changing Places toilet, there is a ceiling track hoist which can be used for movement to both the changing bed and the toilet pan. The room also has a portable privacy curtain. Getting out of the toilet is also quite tricky. You need to push the handle down then use the grab rail on the left to help you navigate the heavy door. If you are with someone else it will be much easier.
