Dunbar Leisure Pool & Gym

Dunbar leisure pool is welcoming for people with disabilities. Access is not a problem. There are disabled spaces in the car park and close by are EV spaces. In summer, picnic benches on a level grass area and a wonderful view of the old harbour and Bass rock. Wheelchair users can use the special chair which takes them into the pool. There is a wave machine and a slide for able bodied people. Disabled shower facilities and wide dressing rooms are available and a sauna downstairs (lift). Unfortunately, the cafe has closed but there is a seated area with drinks and snacks machines. Staff are very friendly and helpful, you could have a really fun experience in this family pool.

We only used the pool and the water was warm. Have a disabled changing room. But bench no hoist and no changing table for disabled adults. The disabled toilet is in a different cubicle. The disabled shower is on poolside, but is good. As long as you don’t want to get naked. Pool wheelchair does not have lift up sides, and I could not transfer (T3 complete paraplegic) but the staff were very helpful and I was able to transfer by being lifted. The pool has a slope down instead of a lift, which was great! The staff were lovely with my assistance dog who stayed in the office while I swam. Free carer ticket.
