    Not awful.

We stayed here for one night which was fine. I definitely wouldn't want to stay longer. Access is ok. You enter from a bumpy uneven pavement onto a ramp, through double doors and up in a lift. The lift isn't the biggest. I managed in my powerchair with my PA. But in a larger chair or with a heavier person accompanying my, we would not have fit. There are a few more heavy fire doors to go through to get to reception. They were thankfully propped open as we arrived and left at peak times. Reception desk is a bit high. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They held doors open to allow me to get to our room. The room itself is extremely basic. There was no surface to place any medical equipment such as ventilator, other than the floor. The bed is on a wooden unit built into the floor with a small space for a suitcase underneath. There is no room for a mobile hoist to get under the bed. Thankfully I had brought a slide board and had enough assistance to manage a transfer that way. However if you rely on a hoist this hotel is totally unsuitable. The bathroom was great at first glance. Nice and wide with room to turn. However, the pipes under the small sink are boxed in and this prevents you from getting your feet under to get near to the basin. This boxed in area also means you can only transfer from one side when using the toilet. There is room for a mobile hoist in the bathroom thankfully. There is a big 'speedbump' type water barrier across the wetroom floor to keep water in the shower. This was quite large and it caused a bit of pain to go roll over it. There is a fold down shower chair attached to the wall which looked brilliant at first but it was completely unusable as it was falling off the wall and the tiles were all broken. There was good colour contrast inthe bathroom with white walls and navy grab rails but the toilet, sink and shower chair are all white on white. The floor is grey. The lighting is good but someone with a visual impairment may struggle. Overall this hotel was so so. There is some access, and with assistance I managed, but it's not suitable for all, and the room is not really designed for staying more than one or two nights at most. If you are ambulant, (can stand, walk a few steps) then you'll manage a lot better in this room. If you require to be hoisted it's not for you. Parking was on street bays or in an expensive multistorey across the road. The vast majority of parking bays are resident permit only. Blue badge does not count. Wheelchair accessible vans will not fit in the multistorey. As of June '23 this will be within the Low Emission Zone. There are bus stops nearby and a good cycle path, but the nearest subway and train stations are quite a walk away, over uneven pavements with a few steep slopes in places.
