Overview
The advantage to requiring assistance and a wheelchair spot on the train is that you are in business. St Pancras is a very busy station and once you have passed security and passport control there doesn’t seem to be enough room for everyone. Thankfully the assistance team move everyone out of the way and take you to the significantly quieter business lounge to wait for your train. About 20 minutes before your train they will collect you and help you board with the most amazing ramps I have seen! There is so much space to move in the train, I didn’t feel trapped by luggage. The toilets are a decent size, not big enough to do doughnuts but reasonable. Another advantage to being in business class is that you get a meal during the journey and an assortment of drinks. The business class treatment is at no extra cost, this is just where the wheelchair spaces are. Also tickets for the Eurostar are heavily discounted for wheelchair users so win win! At your destination, staff are waiting with a ramp to help you off the train then you leave the station, no additional checks. The station in Paris is Gare du Nord. The staff throughout this whole journey were brilliant and cheerful, it was a n excellent experience!
