Access tricky in places but the friendly staff and excellent food make up for it.

The front doors are not electric and there is a small threshold; the same can be said of the internal doors between the farm shop and garden centre, and the garden centre and café. All were heavy and I had to ask for help with all of these doors. The food at the Barn café was AMAZING and I wish I'd had 3 stomachs like the coos that used to live here. There are large wooden tables in the Stables area of the café that are tall enough for a wheelchair user to fit under. There was no music, which was good because the room was a bit echoey and I think I would have struggled to hear a conversation.

    Parking & Transport

I travelled to this place by walk or wheel

Plenty of parking including overflow parking, however no dedicated disabled parking spots. I wheeled here from the hospital, and would not recommend it - the short distance between the hospital grounds and the car park is along a country road with no pavement. Pretty scary!

    Accessible Toilets

The disabled toilet was clean and well appointed, with a tall toilet, fold down grab rail on the left side, a vertical grab rail on the left side and a vertical grab rail on the left side of the sink, which was lowered. The transfer space on the left-hand side of the toilet was clear. There was a soap dispenser and beautiful natural wood mirror, however it was hung too high for a wheelchair user to see in it. The Red Cord was present and correct hanging to the floor and I added a new Red Cord Card as their current one was old.

The staff were accommodating to me and my assistance dog, even though she wasn't wearing her jacket at the time. This not a dog-friendly café.
