We were shown to our table near the disabled toilet. It is a renowned restaurant/pub for the food which didn’t disappoint unfortunately the service wasn’t as good and the toilet was appalling. When I went into the toilet, it only had one drop-down bar that I couldn’t have reached on my own and on the other side was a vertical bar with bins in the way that meant you couldn’t reverse your wheelchair in. For me, I need bars both sides that are horizontal in order to transfer to the toilet so I couldn’t do this on my own. There is boxing for the pipes under both the hand dryer and the sink so you can’t get your chair under and it is in dire need of decorating. Go for the food by all means, but make sure you’ve got someone to help you with the toilet. I explained the issue to the manager at the time who said he would refer it on the general manager. As usual with these places, it will be interesting to know whether anything is ever done.
