Not disabled friendly IMO
We decided to try out M&S Simply Food in St Annes on Sea, which is where I live. I haven't been in there before because they have such a small parking area and as far as I could see, only two spaces. But we decided to give it a try by getting there before they opened, so as to get a disabled parking space.
We arrived at 7.45 am and sure enough there was a disabled parking space - just the one. But when my friend began to try to get the wheelchair out of the boot, using the electric hoist, she found there wasn't really room. Cars were queueing to get past driven by impatient, and rude, people.
Once inside the shop we found the aisles were too narrow for me to easily navigate around in my powered wheelchair, made worse by very impatient shoppers who wanted to walk through me as though I didn't exist. I tried very hard to keep to one side, but still seemed to be in the way of other shoppers, who made it clear their shopping was so much more important than mine.
If I had been by myself I would not have been able to reach anything except the things at my level; many products were placed too high for someone who can't stand up.
The staff members I came across weren't very friendly either, and I left feeling that I had been treated as an inconvenience.
I won't be going in that shop again.
