LIbrary needed to increase its access.

This library is the largest in Glasgow and has so many books on different floors; it is a collection of archives and special collections. The staff members are helpful and willing to support victors in finding the resources they need. This library provides numerous lifts that connect each floor, making it accessible to people of all abilities. However, some areas, particularly for those unfamiliar with the layout, highlighting some improvement such as it would be helpful to first-time visitors to have a map in different formats that can assist them navigate this library without feeling anxious and to create an information centre that may provide guidance at the main entrance when they enter. Additionally, having secure open WiFi could enhance the overall experience because hackers would not have access to important information. SInice I experienced difficulty moving around due to a lack of location awareness as well as not having secure internet access, which made it frustrating and challenging.

A decent place to study, but not without access challenges

The Mitchell Library is a lovely building and a great place to study, but due to the old style of the upper floors, the access is not optimal.

    A great place to study!

Really beautiful building on the outside and on the inside. Plenty of spacious areas to relax, read and perhaps even do a spot of studying. Level access throughout the entire building, and two medium sized lifts giving you access to all floors. Disabled friendly toilets dotted throughout the building. There's also a really nice cafe on the ground floor. Automatic doors are situated around the back of the building - where there is also on-street parking and disabled parking bays available. Staff are really friendly, as you'd come to expect in Glasgow. Only negative is that some of the old style wooden doors are a bit heavy, but there are plenty of staff members around to lend a hand if needed.
