Morridge View is a luxury Peak District barn conversion that sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor with en-suite wet room. Morridge View is one of two self-catering holiday cottages at Lane Head Barns - the other property (Mixon View) sleeps 2 so in total we sleep 12 across the two properties. The cottages are both very well appointed with Morridge View having 4 bath / shower rooms, plenty of comfy seating, a large oak dining table, well equipped kitchen and a log-burner. There are two EV chargers on site - one for each property. Lane Head Barns has been assessed by Visit England with Morridge View achieving 4 Star Gold, and Mixon View 5 Star. We are within the south west area of the Peak District National Park which is a quieter part of the Peak District so it is easy to explore the area without experiencing crowds. We can advise on places to visit that are suitable for wheelchair users - examples being the Manifold Valley, Peak Wildlife Park, and Tittesworth Water which are all just a short drive away. The location of Lane Head Barns is rural and very peaceful with extensive views across farmland so ideal for groups who appreciate relaxing in a peaceful environment. Since we opened in 2018 we have had many wheelchair users visit and all have provided excellent feedback.

Fabulous accommodation

Morridge View is a five bedroom holiday cottage ideally located for visiting the Peak District. The ground floor is level, spacious and open plan. There is a downstairs bedroom suitable for a wheelchair user or those who can’t manage steps. This bedroom has an en-suite wet room. The outside terrace can be accessed via a ramp from the living area. The cottage advertises that it sleeps 10 and it does! Enough sofas for 10, a dining table that fits 10 people around it, plenty outdoor seating and lots of crockery. There has been a lot of attention to detail given at this cottage which is very well decorated. We had everything we needed and lots of home comforts. It would be tricky for a wheelchair user to navigate the kitchen if they wanted to cook themselves but it is roomy. It is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. 5 star accommodation. Everything you see and read on the cottage website is exactly that when you get there. The website is detailed and provides lots of accessibility information.

Disabled Access at Morridge View

Level access from a level hard surfaced car park. Whole of the downstairs is level with oak flooring. Ground floor double bedroom has en-suite step-free wet room with adapted fittings, grab rails, free standing shower chair and toilet frame. We don't have a hoist but the double bed in the ground floor bedroom is suitable for use of a hoist and in the past guests have brought a hoist or hired one. Minimum door width is 790mm. Access to level patio is via ramp.

Accessible parking at Morridge View

The car park area is adjacent to Morridge View and free to use. It is level and a hard surface so ideal for wheelchair users. Disabled visitors may park right outside the front door which has level access. There is space for 5 cars to park in total.
