Great food and good access

Excellent

The phone line was constantly busy, which was quite stressful as I would've liked to call ahead to check whether there’s an accessible loo and step-free entrance - this information is not available on their website. I included my access requirements in the online booking notes, and thankfully staff seemed aware of this when I arrived. The food was lovely, particularly the way the egg was cooked. Unfortunately, I did not have space for dessert, which is a shame as they looked gorgeous.

Disabled Access In and Around

Excellent

The waiting area before being seated was quite cramped, especially with my powerchair, which took up almost half the space. That aside, access was good once we were at the table, and a chair was already pulled out. Staff seemed aware of my access requirements, likely thanks to the note added to the booking. It did get quite loud because it's a popular location, but it's a relatively well-lit space.

Parking & Transport

Good

Transport links are generally good. On the day we visited, there was a cycling event which meant several major streets were closed, meaning you had to go the long way, but that’s not a regular occurrence. On a normal day, I imagine it would be straightforward to get to.

Accessible Toilets

Good

The accessible loo was located right next to where we were seated, which gave me peace of mind. It had a sliding door, which is not my favourite, as the locks on these can be a bit finicky. This one was fine. There was enough room for me to manoeuvre in the way I use the loo, but if you're someone who needs to park your wheelchair directly beside the toilet to transfer, this would not be possible as there was a storage unit placed right next to the toilet.

Staff

Excellent

The staff were friendly and took our order efficiently. There was no fuss or confusion about my access needs; it felt like they’d been briefed in advance, which made the whole experience lovely.
