Excellent
The Mill complex is an amazing mix of art galleries, museum and archive, leisure facilities and independent shops and restaurants and bars. It is an amazing place to visit, but it is on a slightly hilly site however my power wheelchair manages fine. The Mill owners have done their level best to make everything as accessible as they possibly can including altering access to the various parts of the old Mills to allow wheelchair access. An example is the shopfront on the picture where I couldn’t access six months ago because it was too sloping and has now been replaced by an easy accessible entrance. The owners pride themselves on trying to make the Mill fully accessible and there are only a couple of areas I can’t access due to the old structures of the Mill. The mail has been the heart of the regeneration of this village which has continued outside the Mill complex into the main road with amazing award-winning Sandwich shops, restaurants, bars and independent shops.

There is Level access to most parts of the site with lifts to the upper floorswith only a couple of shops up steps that can’t be accessed due to the buildings of the Mill. The majority of the shops and all the restaurants and cafés et cetera can be accessed by wheelchair..

There are various disabled parking spaces on the site as well as parking space is on the main road just next to the Mill complex.

Accessible Toilets
Excellent
There are lots of accessible toilets around the site with well appointed facilities to include grab rails in the right places. They’re all clean and with plenty of room to turn around in with room for a carer. There are also transfer spaces next to the toilet, but occasionally they have a pad facilities bin there rather than on the narrow side of the toilet.

Staff
Excellent
Staff are amazing, and for any event we have attended they have gone the extra mile to get me access to where I need to go. When we go to the Christmas market, they take me in front of the queue so I can access the lift straight away without waiting outside in the cold. The owners themselves are amazing and listen to any of your queries that you have about the site and I’ve said that they are doing the level best to make everything accessible.
