Level access beauticians within a gym.

Disabled Access In and Around

The gym has step free access and double doors that you manually have to open. Inside the gym it is all one open area and you go over a wide are of to get to Art of Beauty. It is a single door entrance to get into the Art of Beauty treatment room. It is narrow as you can see from the photo below but I did manage to get through in my wheelchair, even with my handbag on. I get my treatments done in my wheelchair so Jane moves the bed over so there is room for my wheelchair. Even though the treatment room looks small I was able to slowly turn around in a 360 degree circle.

Parking & Transport

There are 3 parking spaces outside of the gym, they aren't disabled parking spaces but if you exit from the back of your vehicle it would be okay. The owner said to me if my beautician mentions to her that I am coming she will put a cone out so there is a space available for me. I'm not from this area so I don't know much about the public transport but the beauticians is located on the main street of Invergowrie so I think there will be bus stops nearby.

Accessible Toilets

There was no accessible toilet here but there is a toilet available. I could see it as it was a tight turn to get into it so I don't think it would be suitable for wheelchair users.

Staff

Jane who owns Art of Beauty is very welcoming and friendly. Always have a great catch-up. Whilst visiting I also met I think the owner of the gym where Art of Beauty is part of and she was really nice.

Additional Information

We had to sign a piece of paper to say myself and my carer didn't have any Covid symptoms, Jane has my contact details and I have her contact details so that is how we would have done track and trace if we needed to. Myself, my carer and Jane wore a mask throughout my whole visit so I felt Covid safe.
