Disabled Travellers lunch at The White Swan Birmingham
Just a couple of minutes away from our visit to Birmingham Botanical gardens stands the historical, White Swan pub, with its Georgian architecture .
During the 50s and 60s it was known as “The Dirty Duck” but it had a skittles and a wooden 10 pin bowling alley. In the 80,s and 90,s you found locals, students and cricket players.
During our visit in August 2026 we found it to be a pleasant enough little white washed pub, with a country style feel, and beautifully decorated with modern, comfortable furnishings
The food is is excellent, thus a popular lunch time meeting place, secwe recommend you booking in advance.
There are places for disabled chairs to be placed, and staff are very attentive.
Arriving off the main road you immediately find a few disabled bays on left, with a short walk to the main entrance. However there is a short walk or push over cobbled paving, and a slight slope, but after that it’s level throughout the restaurant and by r lounge, apart from a steepish wooden ramp up to main restaurant
The main course was well prepared, and for an old couple, very filling.
Taken with a glass of CA BIANCE GAVI, with lemon hues, clear but watery look, it was crisp, lemony and fresh, with the taste being sharp, dull, mouth drying, grassy notes, lemony, so very dry, but refreshing. We gave 6 points
Dessert was delightful, and my wife chose a passion fruit cocktail, very nice, fruity, but gets sweeter as you sup. Although it is a medium sweet drink.
The bar and its lounge is wonderful, also ideal for dinning
and Again, a pub we would recommend to you.
