Excellent
Used the Neatebox Welcome App and went to the Street Events at the top of the High Street. Was met by Lou and helped us decide what to see. Lou took us the quietest way through the crowds to see Corey Pickett unijuggler and found me a chair to watch. He was great and we thoroughly enjoyed it, I would not have gone at all had it not been for the help from Welcome as I could not have stood or pushed my way through the crowds. Thanks too to the amazing guy handing out flyers who saw I was using mobility aids and found me a chair while I was waiting for Lou to come for me. All round a success.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
It’s on the road, which is cobbled and on an incline but I managed slowly. There were no steps and I did need help to find an act and gave advance notice on Welcome that I would need help to get through the crowds and a seat to watch a performance. The act was mime and since one of us is hearing impaired that was also brilliant. I think a taxi or car could have pulled up quite close.
Parking & Transport
0We came by bus to the venue and I noticed there was a mobiloo which is a great thing. The nearest train station is Waverley and over North Bridge, but the buses are frequent and stop close by.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
I didnt use it but it was accessible and there were volunteers to help if needed I am sure this could have been requested on Welcome as well if they knew you were coming.
Staff
Excellent
Lou who helped us was friendly and introduced herself, helped us find a show and supplied a seat. I would not have attempted to go if I had not had help
