I am a disabled person and a carer or friend of a disabled person and a general supporter of disabled access. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.

More disabled access features than I've been aware of in the past made my visit to watch the 25th anniversary of my favourite film all the more special for me. Automatic doors with access buttons, a spacious lift and what was essentially a private balcony to myself with what turned out to be a private, accessible bathroom as no-one else had booked the other wheelchair spaces that night.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
There are automatic doors to enter the building and these are easily used to gain access. Inside the foyer there is a lift and 2 sets of escalators to take you to the second floor where the screens etc are located. As you exit the lift on the second floor there is a large accessible toilet to the left and the corridors have enough space to drive a car through, so large mobility aids will have zero issues here. The floor is carpeted, so some self-propel wheelchair users may run into some struggles with this. There is plenty of seating before you enter the cinema screens, so if you need a rest, this is easy to do. There are plenty of staff on hand to help, should you need assistance and if you have booked the rear wheelchair spaces, you will need to speak to someone to assist you to your screen as it's on the 3rd floor and only accessible via the lift and a staff key to get you there. Depending on which screen you are in, you will either have a straight route into your screen or you may have to access it via a ramp which seems easy enough to do as they are gently inclined and lengthy, rather than short and steep. There are accessible toilets on the 3rd floor specifically for disabled users and their companions who have booked the rear wheelchair spaces, so being able to get quick access is very easily done.

There are a few options for parking when it comes to accessing The Vue Cinema in Swansea. There is The City Gates NCP carpark directly next to the cinema itself (I have reviewed this carpark if you would like to know more and I would recommend reading it if you're staying past 10pm and have mobility issues), there is a smaller, street level carpark to the left of the building, however these spaces are hard to come by. There is a drop-off zone outside of the cinema itself, St David's multi-storey carpark is across the road, COPR Bay carpark is a short distance away by foot. There are plenty of links to taxis and public bus services a short distance away and if you're able to get there, Swansea Train station is some distance away on foot. There aren't any EV chargers at The City Gates carpark, so if this is something you would need, I would suggest doing a search as the only place I can think of that has these is COPR Bay carpark.

Accessible Toilets
Excellent
There are several accessible toilets available throughout the cinema venue itself and these are generally really easy to access. Each one that I have used was very spacious with more than enough room for turning around in my wheelchair and plenty of room for transfer. There are grab rails, red emergency cords, easily locked doors and low level sinks in each accessible bathroom and they are all spotlessly clean.

Excellent
Staff at the cinema were fantastic and couldn't do enough to help me. In fact, I was feeling like a VIP by the time I was given a mini-tour of the 3rd floor and shown to my "private viewing platform" as I have now taken to calling it. I can't wait for the next time I go the cinema as it is now an experience I am looking forward to, rather than dreading because of my physical disabilities hindering me.
