The adventures around Waterfront Place were fun and very wheelchair friendly. Drawn in by the sight of water fountains on the paving my 'inner child' came rapidly to the surface as it was time to play!
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Waterfront Place was a large rectangular area adjacent to the V&A Dundee as well as being alongside the water and amazing views across the River Tay. The areas has been newly built and comprises of several sections, all of which had great surfaces and were easy to wheel around. My all time favourite had to be the 'dancing fountains' embedded into the paving at one point. Small jets of water came alive as you moved around and just wheeling through the water and messing around brought back childhood memories. Alongside, a large steel canopied area formed a children's play area and the walkway led on the the Cycle Hub. Heading off toward the riverside we encountered the amazing wooden recliners where you could pause a while and soak up the sunshine. The Waterfront Place was a great space the chill, to admire the views, play with the water or simply relax and enjoy a snack from one of the nearby 'pop up' vans ... for us it was bagels!
Parking & Transport
Excellent
With accessible parking bays, Blue Badge bays, right alongside the V&A and Waterfront Place it was easy to get too. The parking bays were large, modern and well signposted. The surfaces around Waterfront Place were great too as they were smooth and easy to wheel across.
Accessible Toilets
Good
Whilst there are no toilets in Waterfront Place, I felt it still worthy of four stars simply because within two minutes walk was the amazing V&A which has accessible toilets and a Changing Places Toilet.
