Venue Description

Wetwheels builds disabled people’s confidence by providing the opportunity to access the sea in a fun, safe, stimulating and rewarding way using specially modified, fully accessible powerboats.

Accessibility

The Dover Sea Sports Centre is 100% Accessible including a suite of private changing/shower rooms. The Wetwheels boat is accessible via a wide marina pontoon ramp and a wide level side door on to the boat itself. The boat has built in wheelchair anchoring points to ensure wheelchair are secure whilst the boat is moving. Seating is available to anyone else. All Wetwheels boats are purpose built to be wheelchair accessible.

Toilets

Our toilet and changing and shower suites are all accessible for powered wheelchairs.

Staff

Our staff are all professional sea going skippers and crew. Each staff member has undergone the Wetwheels Disability Training Course.

Assistance dog facilities

Assistance dog exercise facilities

Dogs are not allowed to run freely on the beach. However there is a green lawn area 1/4mile further down the promenade where dogs can be freely exercised.

Other assistance dog facilities

We have a dog water bowl that is always down and available.
