Good
A collection of 12 cabins surrounded by their own private gardens and lawn and lots of trees overlooking a lake full of bird life. I am a wheelchair user and the cabin was easy to access up a ramp. the cabin was spacious enough to move round the wet room was small but I had enough room. It was difficult to find information on the website about the accessible features. The website had no accessibility statement or photos of the wet room so we felt we used a leap of Faith to stay there. There are no hoists or profile bed but we didn't need these features . We did have a good time and marvellous weather. We had often no mobile signal and there was no Wi-Fi on site. We were able to take our dogs which was brilliant.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The access into the cabin was via a ramp which was a good length there are no steps anywhere in the cabin and there was plenty of room to move around in a wheelchair. the decking at the front had plenty of room to move about and sit in the sun
Parking & Transport
Good
The parking and access around the site was fine for a wheelchair. We arrived by car and as it is very rural you would definitely need a car to get around the area
Accessible Toilets
Average
The toilet and wet room was small but I had enough room to manoeuvre in my wheelchair. The toilet was a good height and the sink was the right height for a wheelchair user. There were lots of grab rails and a non-slip floor. We had to telephone the site before hand to find out whether a shower chair was provided. It was actually a shower stool which was tiny and rickety and only suitable for a child. I am small but I didn't feel safe on it so I feel that this needs to be a sturdy shower chair.
Staff
Average
We didn't see any staff for the whole 3 days we were there. Access to the cabin was easy as the keys were left in the door. It would have been nice for someone to check if we had everything and whether we needed any information. I expect this hands-off approach is to do with covid-19 restrictions.
