Overview

Newly disabled wheelchair user. 2nd trip out. They have a handful of designated disabled spaces that can be booked in advance. So I did this. There is a steep incline from the disabled spaces and outside the museum. (Doable but it is there). There is space (non designated) to drop off outside if easier. The world museum covers about 6 floors. There are stairs as well as 2 lifts. It was very busy when I visited so often had to wait for lifts and were then like sardines. In a couple of areas it is quite tight for space when busy, which made for a nervous time as I didn't want to hit anyone as a learner wheelchair driver. Otherwise a really well thought out space with lots of interesting pieces. One tiny area was inaccessible to me, however they have put viewing windows from underneath. A nice attempt. That area was only about 20ft X 20ft mezzanine so like I say only a tiny piece of the whole exhibition and they tried. Toilets were well signposted, good space (outside and in). May have been radar key locked but I can't remember. Café was spacious and well managed. Gift shop was a little tight but think that's due to number of people. All in all. Excellent visit. Will go back!

Tight when busy but otherwise we'll thought out. Tiny section inaccessible (about 20ft X 20ft mezzanine out of 6 floors!), but attempts made to view from below.
