Venue Description

The Grand Theatre, Blackpool is one of Britain’s premier heritage theatres. Listed Grade II*, this Matcham theatre is in the top 8 per cent of all listed buildings in England, and one of only thirty listed buildings in Blackpool. It is one of only nine large theatres listed Grade II* or above, north of London. The Grand Theatre sits alongside other significant cultural heritage assets which help to create the unique Blackpool experience. Frank Matcham’s four-tier intimate auditorium with 1,053 seats helps touring companies create a range of atmospheres for audiences.

Accessibility

Stalls seats have lift access for wheelchairs from the foyer and level egress from the auditorium at the end of the performance. There are nine allocated wheelchair spaces available at every performance. If you have a disability and need to be accompanied, a free seat will be provided for your companion if you mention this when booking. The stalls bar is accessed via a gentle ramp although refreshments are also on sale in the auditorium – just ask a member of the Front of House team. If you have a larger or motorized chair, please state this at time of booking so that we can accommodate you in comfort and safety. There is a range of technology available to support those with hearing or visual impairment including infrared and induction loops, captioned performances, audio described performances and BSL signed performances.
