Clenergy Charging Station
In East Burrows Road pay and display car park there were two EV charging stations which were operated by Clenergy. One was placed alongside an accessible parking bay so there was some extra space on the left-hand side of the space as you looked at it. Otherwise, the spaces were fairly narrow and wouldn’t have provided a lot of space on either side. The connector was a Type 2 socket providing up to 22kW.
There was one machine that provided power to both of the bays. It required a cable to be attached so you would need to have your own cable to be able to use these bays. The docking point was on a raised pavement with the only dropped curb being outside of the car park. Even when I was on the pavement the docking point was quite high up and it would have been difficult to lift the heavy charging cable into the docking point from my wheelchair.
Above the docking point were some very small instructions that I couldn’t read because they were too high and too small, and a touchpoint for cards.
Overall, these weren’t very accessible charging bays. The spaces were narrow and it would be very awkward to connect your vehicle if you need step-free access.
