Overview

Being of a certain age with a bus pass I went to Glasgow from Edinburgh, using the service 900 from the bus station. I was very surprised given the excellent access to the lower level departure area via lift. Not the dingy old bus station I remember as a child. Fully modernised with disabled Access toilets with RADAR access, all on one level. There were amenities for travelers such as hot cold drinks, foods, magazines, papers. There were also left luggage stores and a large information area. The staff could not have been more helpful at the station and on the bus. The nearest public transport access is the Tram, with buses on three corners of the square stopping at most 200m from the Bus Station

Access to the Staion is by lift at the west end and ramp at the east entrances, at the moment the whole area of the St. James Centre area is being redeveloped so the James Craig walk is closed. Well serviced by tram and bus services.

Lots of staff and very well in tune with people who were disabled or requiring assistance, the bus to Glasgow had a drop level floor and a lady staff member provided a customer in her wheelchair with attendance and accessing the bus, this was reciprocated at Buchanan Street in Glasgow.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Never realised it as so comfortable and easy - why take a grain for an extra 10 mins..
