Falkland Palace & Garden

We warmly welcome all visitors to enjoy the beautiful gardens at Falkland Palace.

Due to the historic nature and 16th-century layout of the Palace and its grounds, full accessibility throughout the site is unfortunately not possible. We would like to make visitors aware of the following before planning their visit:

Access to the Palace, outdoor historic tennis court and gift shop is via a steep turnpike staircase or steps, which are not suitable for wheelchair users.

There are multiple staircases within the Palace. While handrails are provided, the steps are narrow, steep and spiral.

The gardens feature a combination of loose gravel and grass paths, which may be uneven and difficult to navigate for some visitors.

We regret that these historic features limit accessibility, and we encourage visitors to contact us at Falklandpalace@nts.org.uk in advance if they would like to discuss individual access needs.

Please note that an accessible toilet is available at the car park in the centre of Falkland, a short walk from the Palace.
