Meridian Point Craft Centre

You have to pre-book before you arrive. I hunted around my local area for the most accessible place to go pottery painting and Pot Luck was the most accessible for me. Sue the owner made things as accessible as possible for me. We used the back door near where we parked as opposed to coming around the front. We used the front door when we collected the things we painted. When me and Emily my PA arrived Sue had moved some chairs out from under the table nearest the back of the workshop so I could my wheelchair under the table. My wheelchair is very small and I just about managed to manoeuvre around but it was a challenge and I found it easier for Emily to help get what I wanted to paint as I was scared of knocking something off the shelf. Sue was happy to help get me what I needed to decorate my pottery painting piece and was as as accommodating as possible which I appreciated. I also booked a day and time when the workshop was going to be most quiet and less busy as I cope better when it’s like that. I was impressed with the size of the accessible parking space, it would easily accommodate a large WAV or a WAV with a side ramp. There is an accessible toilet in the workshop which I’ll review more below. There are some nice other shops located at the Meridian Craft Centre. There is also a nice cafè located at the Meridian Craft Centre which I’m going to review. It was a little expensive for what me and Emily painted but it was nice to get out and it was a fun activity. I’d say it’s suitable for manual wheelchair users or if you use another type of mobility aid like a walking stick but I don’t think it would accommodate a bulky electric wheelchair, maybe a small lightweight folding chair and definitely not a mobility scooter. If you have other disabilities and don’t use a mobility aid then access is fine. If you prefer to go when it’s quiet when you book I advise asking when the workshop is most quiet and booking to go then. I was also able to take a drink with me and have that while I painted.
