Venue Description

The oldest working railway in the world. Established by Act of Parliament in 1758, now a working Heritage Railway and Accredited Museum. Open weekends, Bank Holiday Mondays and additionally Wednesdays in August from end of March to end of October. Trains run from 1100 every 40 minutes until 1600. Santa Specials run for children during December.

Accessibility

The building facilities and platform are all accessible by wheelchairs. Our first floor is accessible by lift. We can accommodate most wheelchairs on the train within the standard coaches. We are building a new coach with extra wide doors to accommodate the largest wheelchairs, but this will not be ready until the end of 2014. Persons with a disability may bring a carer free of charge.
