Morrisons

The shop offers automatic wheelchairs with shopping baskets or trollies or those who require it; this means individuals are able to maintain their independence by allowing themselves to shop alone. Morrisons aisles are wide and well-spaced allowing enough room for a wheelchair and a trolley to cross past each other.

On my recent visit to Morrison's in York, I was made aware of the facilities for people with disabilities. I was pleasantly surprised with the extent of the facilities available. On entering the premises I noticed level access and automatic doors. Ramps and slopes were present for individuals such as wheelchair users and a mobility impaired walker was also on the premises. Around the shop there was chairs, which would prove helpful for people who may become tired easily while grocery shopping.

There is level-access to this venue making it easily accessible for everybody. The doors to the shop are automatic and the shop is based on one level only. There are pedestrian crossings close to the entrance with no curbs on the path at these crossings.
