Venue Description

The Museum of Childhood is a family-friendly free museum. Five galleries explore the history of childhood over the last 150 years, with displays dedicated to toys & games, hobbies, reading, and fashion. A gift shop offers retro and modern souvenirs for all ages.

Accessibility

We welcome disabled visitors. There is a small slope to the front door and there are swing doors to enter the museum. Gallery 1 and the shop are at street level. We have a lift which enables access to galleries 2 and 3, including temporary exhibitions. The rest of the building (galleries 4 and 5) is accessible by stairs only. The stairs have handrails. We have an accessible toilet in gallery 3 and baby changing facilities. Although no pets are allowed, guide and assistance dogs are welcomed.
