The National Theatre is dedicated to the constant revitalisation of the great traditions of the British stage and to expanding the horizons of audiences and artists alike. In its three theatres on the South Bank in London, it presents an eclectic mix of new plays and classics from the world repertoire with seven or eight productions in repertory at any one time. The National Theatre aspires to reflect in its repertoire the diversity of the nation's culture.
Audio-described performances and touch tours for Blind and visually impaired people; Captioned performances for deaf or partially hearing visitors; Relaxed performances aimed at anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance environment including people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, sensory or communication disorders, or a learning disability. For the hearing impaired (including hearing aid users), the Contego system, an easy-to-use wireless listening device, is now available for use on National Theatre Backstage Tours.
