All kinds of accessible!
Visit date:
Overview
I used the metro station in Pigneto and was thrilled to see how spacious and easy it was to get around. It is clearly marked on all trains which stations are accessible, and some lines have disabled access at every station.
Transport & Parking
As a transport station, this was excellent. Lifts were clearly signposted to get underground and to find your way back up to the street.
Access
Great signage, Braille and touch maps of the entire station, Braille panels on staircase handrails to confirm which line you are moving in the direction of. Wide open space, smooth floors and easy to use ticket machines. The trains themselves are rarely overcrowded - and it is clearly marked on the platform where you will find accessible carriages.
Toilets
I didn't use any so can't comment.
Staff
There were no staff at this station when I visited - I bought my tickets at the machines which were very straightforward to use. You can buy 48 or 72 hour passes which are great if you're on a short city break.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Metro was by far my favourite way to get around this city. Beats trying to cross busy roads and trek through summer crowds!
