    Poplar Station: DLR line

This is a DLR station with four platforms and is above ground. There are two entrances to the station: from below the station on street level, and from above via an overpass which goes over a main road. You can get DLR trains to Beckton, Woolwich, Stratford, Canary Wharf, Bank and Tower Gateway stations. As this is an unmanned station there aren’t ticket barriers like you would find at many other London Underground stations but there are points where you need to tap in with your Oyster card or other relevant card. If you are entering the station from street level there are stairs and lifts that will bring you up to the platforms. There is clear signage to tell you which set of stairs or lift to take to get the train you need. If you’re entering the station from the overpass then there are lifts on either side of the overpass that bring you up from street level and then you travel along a flat walkway to the entrance of the station. There is again clear signage to show which trains stop at each platform. Stairs and lifts are available to all the platforms. The lifts all have tactile buttons and a hearing loop and there are ticket machines available at both entryways. The platforms are above ground level so they are exposed to the elements. The central part of the platforms have canopies to protect from weather like rain as much as possible. But it could get cold in the winter. Each platform has tactile paving and a painted yellow line to show where the edge of the platform is. There is also some seating available on each platform. The gap when boarding and disembarking is a bit bigger than some other DLR stations but it’s still manageable on wheels.
