West India Quay Station: DLR line

This is a DLR station with four platforms. You can get DLR services to Stratford, Canary Wharf and Bank Stations from this station. It’s above ground so the platforms are outside although there are canopies covering the central parts of the platforms. This station is a short walk from Canary Wharf and for some parts of Canary Wharf, this station may be closer to your final destination than Canary Wharf Station. So it’s worth checking whereabouts you’re going to. As this is a DLR station it doesn’t have an entrance with ticket barriers, like other London Underground stations. The entrance is based on street level and there are lifts and stairs up to the platforms with signage telling you which trains stop at each platform. There are also some ticket machines available on street level. The lifts have tactile buttons and a hearing loop inside them and they are fairly spacious. I was able to get in with another buggy without any issues. Each platform has tactile paving to mark the edge of the platform as well as a yellow painted line to signify the closest you should wait for the train. Some seating is also available on each platform. The information points look slightly different here to the rest of the London Underground, they are rectangular instead of circular.
