Busy market that felt cramped

Swansea Market is a large indoor market with four entrances, one on each side of it. It has a large range of vendors, such as food, clothing, cards, beauty, and much more. In the centre is a section with some food vendors and seating nearby. There is a section with toilets, including a Changing Places toilet, but the Changing Places toilet was locked and had a sign saying to speak to a member of staff, but I wasn’t able to find anyone. It was very busy and some areas had narrow walkways which made it difficult to navigate in my wheelchair.

There are four entrances to the market, one on each side of it, and they all had automatic sliding doors. The market is indoor and the temperature was good when I visited. Some of the walkways are quite narrow and I found it difficult to navigate some parts of it, especially the areas that were particularly busy. There was an area in the centre that had some seating options but it was all quite cramped and I didn’t feel comfortable trying to navigate the space in my wheelchair. The seating areas had several food vendors around it. Almost all of the vendors had standing height counters with some even higher than usual. Some of the stalls also had steps into the stall itself.

There is no dedicated parking for the market but there are several public car parks nearby. The market is around 300 metres from Swansea Bus Station where there are a large number of bus and coach services available.

Accessible Toilets

There was an accessible toilet and a Changing Places toilet at this location. I wasn’t able to get into the accessible toilet as it was always busy when I tried to use it. The Changing Places toilet was locked and had a sign saying to speak to a member of staff to unlock it. However, I wasn’t able to find a member of staff that was able to help me.
Staff
I didn’t find any market staff; I only found stall vendors. All the stall vendors I interacted with were really nice.
